My Story
I have always been interested in health and nutrition and studied it when my children were young; however, I never could connect my interest with my own health in an effective way. I developed high blood pressure and high cholesterol and was on statin drugs for 10 years. I didn't like how those drugs made me feel. I was tired and lethargic. I was told exercise would help me with my high blood pressure and cholesterol, but how could I do that if I didn't have the energy to get off the couch?
Then I discovered Shaklee. I learned that through supplementation, change of diet and exercise I might be able to get off those meds. I worked with my doctor (he was very reluctant) and began the Shaklee supplements that helped strengthen my heart. I was able to wean myself off those meds and I am now med free and I feel fantastic!
My Husband
My husband would get bronchitis and lose his voice every year in September/October. (Really not very helpful for a minister!) The doctor said it was caused by allergies and prescribed Claritin for him to take everyday! (Basically masking the problem, not solving the problem!) We added Nutriferon and other supplements. He has not had bronchitis since (for the last 7 years!) He now is teaching in a Seminary and every year they are after him to get the flu shot. The rest of the faculty gets the shot, and they all get sick. He keeps up with his supplements and stays well. In fact, I can't remember when the last time he has been sick.
He is also an avid runner, still competing in 5ks in his age group. He will be competing in the Senior Olympics next year. He credits the Sports Nutrition from Shaklee for his performance and recovery.
